this is a beautiful, all original aug 1 1968 date stamp jazz festival snare in silver sparkle. serial number is 618634 .this one would have been made right after Ludwig made the change to the 3 ply clear maple interiors and also to the large round knob muffler. this one started life with a student and was then tucked away in a case. there is virtually no fade on the shell. the chrome is in amazing shape. it needed nothing when I found it. I did carefully disassemble and polish everything to preserve it for the next owner. has a script logo p83 strainer and script logo snare butt. has the chrome script 18 strand wires. has original cords that were unaltered during cleanup. original Ludwig orchestra batter head with plenty of life left. the drum has the original snare side head. it has one very small puncture. I have placed a small piece of tape on the inside to keep it from spreading. ive done this on many of my drums. it was simply too nice to change in my opinion. two factory items to mention...there is a small knick in the very top of the shell. I feel like the drum probably left the factory like this because the drum looked like it had never been opened up. also where they trimmed the wrap at the seam, they made an extra partial cut beside a lug. its at the back of the drum and doesn't stand out like a sore thumb. I just like to always mention these little things. its one of the nicest drums that I have owned. it sounds incredible. this one is so nice that I wish I could keep it and build a kit around it, which my wife has recommended!
please pm me here or email to if you have any questions. thanks for looking..
$550(or best offer) plus 20 insured shipping to the lower 48. actual shipping costs anywhere else. another silver sparkle jazz fest sold on ebay this month for 750. this one is as nice or nicer in my opinion. just looking to move this one quickly.
two more outside pics a couple posts below show the overall color a little better. the wrap is so vivid that it looks like chrome.
