As far as the price, this drum appears to be a lovely deal. FWIW, about 6 months ago my store manager buddy offered to hook me up with an in the box A-stock BB, tubes, hammered (and I can't recall which strainer) for 580. Wait time alone was > 6 months. I had just bought a Brady and was not in a position to move. Here is a stunning drum with zero wait time at a great price.
For sale or trade-brand new Black Beauty Last viewed: 36 minutes ago
Slingerlynn, I'd advise you to edit your listing for future readers of this post, as in your first post, it says you would do a partial trade and now you're saying no trades? Also to be fair, you show Fork's listing that snare for $848.25, but it's actually $819.00. Here's a listing of others on eBay for comparison.
Thanks for the advice, I'll edit that now. I can't edit the title though. See the UPDATE in the first post. UPDATE #2 (3/5/2012): I sold a Pacific kit and some other stuff to cover my unexpected expense, so I can trade again.
The one with Imperial lugs is $819, the one with tube lugs (which mine has) is $848.25 and it has a P85 rather than the upgraded P86 (which mine has). I also mentioned in the first post that Memphis Drum Shop sells it for $753.25. So, essentially I'm giving a $175 discount off the lowest new price I can find on a brand-new never-played drum.

Thanks for pointing out the positives, I hope more people will realize the deal...or steal...I'm offering. I paid $700 in June 2010 for the one that had to be replaced. This one is brand-new, only time out of the box was to put a P86 on it because that's what I had put on the other and Ludwig sent this one with a P85. I will ship it in the original box with all the extras, paperwork and all. And as you pointed out, no wait time!
Thanks again!

Just a quick update for those of you who have seen this post in the last few days. I am able to trade again, so let me know if you have anything to trade.
As previously mentioned, I'm looking for a late 60s Slingerland 8x12 tom (preference of milk chocolate interior, must have no extra holes and drilled for spade mount) and snare (preference of milk chocolate interior and 8 lugs, no extra holes). I'm also looking for vintage Zildjian crashes, preferably lower-pitched and darker sounding.
Thanks!

SlingerLynn, did you sold your Black Beauty?
I just bought B stock one... it looks so vintage, and sounds incredible!
This snare is a godlike!
In case of deal with johnnyringo:

I have not sold it yet. I haven't really been pushing it very hard lately. I should though, I need to buy some cases to protect whichever drums I decide to bring out to gigs.
That is nice! I agree, today's B/O badges look more vintage than the shiny keystone badges do. I used to not care much for the B/O badges, but they are growing on me. Congratulations!
Lynn
