if those are the original hoops, they would be brass in '60. maybe they were replaced?

mikey is right as always cob till 63 or 64

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Hi Guys!

Thanks for the expertise - appreciate it. I went back and double-checked. Looks like the top hoop is COS and the bottom is COB, so the top may have been replaced, but I may be wrong. I'll update my listing.

Thanks!!!

that makes even better sense on the hoops because I thought I saw the drop gate on the snare side which usually indicates brass..

If we can come to a 'Happy Hunting Ground' price-wise, I'm planning to put those parts on a vintage, virgin (un-drilled) Slingerland 3-line copper snare drum shell. It'll be one hell of a drum!

Gerald -

I'll be happy to gift you the muffler if you need it to complete a drum. PM me your mailing info. When I get the parts, I'll send you the muffler.

Thanks Derek! Can't wait to start on the copper snare!
