Four German snares to identify Last viewed: 8 hours ago

Hi, I've a few German snares that I can't seem to positively identify. I've had some help from Christian B in an earlier threads I started where I mentioned these drums. Here they are again.

Pic#1 is of a 28 cm (11") brass shell with free floating heads and brass hoops. It has a "Tango" style strainer and one vent hole in the shell.

Pic#2 is another single tension drum measuring 38cm (15") across. I can not yet confirm if the shell is brass or steel

Pic#3 and 4 is a snare drum with offset lugs and slotted tension rods. Shell measures 4.5 x 14

Last pic is a 5 x 14. Again, I can not yet confirm if the shell is brass or steel

Any information would a great help.

They are Rudolf, Heinrich, Jurgen and Hans...Burger Kin

That was both funny and annoying at the same time.

Anyone else?

Snare in pic # 2 is a brass shell 36cm (just over 14")

Here are some more detailed photos of that drum. Excuse the quality of my bad phone camera.

Oh and shell #1 and lots used shell #2 including SONOR.

Thanks, OddBall. The two single-tension snares have some things in common. They're both brass shells formed around steel rings at the bearing edges. You can't see the rings, but a magnet sticks to the bearing edges of these shells. I assume they're both made by the same company. Thanks for the info.

I think the green sparkle is a Deri and the other chrome snare with offset lugs is a Tromsa? Fingers crossed it's a brass shell too.
