Freebies & Deals Last viewed: 1 minute ago

I'm seeing a lot of recent posts pertaining to either freebies or awesome drum deals. So I figured I would start a thread for just that matter. I'm sure most of us at some point or another has acquired a drum from the brinks of destruction or found a kit with a take me home now price. I'll be sure and take some photos, but here are some of my better freebies & deals.

70's B/O Supraphonic - Freebie from a friend

60's Keystone Acrolite - Deal at $40

50's Slingerland Radioking - Freebie from an Ex's father

60's / 70's Ludwig Kit ( also came with a 60's Tempro bass drum & tom ) Freebie from a buddies friend who was moving to Cali. He was going to bring them to the dump! 20" bass,13" tom,16" floor tom

60's Yamaha Kit - Deal for $30 at a local store. Was missing the badges, but the lugs are the give away. 12", 14" Floor, 20" Bass

60's Kent kit - Deal for $40. Same as with the Yamaha kit. 20" bass,12" tom,14" snare

70's Slingerland Kit - Deal for $60. 24" Bass, 14" tom, 16 tom

70's Ludwig Kit - Deal for $40 - 22" bass, 15" tom, 16" tom

I've had some other good deals, but these by far were my best scores. What has everyone else scored through the years??

18 Kits & 40+ snares..

The closest thing i got to a freebie or deal was when i acquired a set of Paiste Formula 602 Blue Label 15" hi hats in absolute mint, new old stock condition for $75 !.. If you know your vintage Paiste cymbals, you'd know that these hats are considered the "holy grail" of vintage Paiste, as well as the ultra rare 15" size from that era to be found in that condition..

Still have them and i'll never sell them..

The other was a Ludwig Downbeat 4x14 piccolo in WMP for $170..Not a super deal, but a great one none the less.

And back in 1995 i picked up a used Ludwig 5 piece Bowling Ball Black Oyster Pearl kit circa 1976 for $450..

And finally, a vintage early 70's Rogers Fullerton in a black cortex

for $425 in absolute mint condition.. Sold both kits like the fat head that i am ! DOH DOH DOH !!

I'm one of the unlucky ones. Best I can do is I've caught Phil Ehart (Kansas drummer) sticks on two concert occasions. Lol. Nice sticks but too big for me..

Hey, ArchxAngel!

Good post! Believe it or not, about two years ago, someone on this forum sent me a late seventies Ludwig Supraphonic in fantastic condition! The gentleman wishes to remain anonymous so I will respect his wishes. To this day, I am not sure why this gesture was made but, I will always be eternally grateful. I hope you read this reply, sir. I want you to know just how much this has meant to me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your snare is babied beyond belief!

19" 1950s-ish Turkish K for $15. A friend had cracked one of my crashes a few years previously. This wasn't working for him as a rock ride, so since he needed $15 for something, he sold it to me for that much (in 1984).
