So, I was reading Oldschool's thread about the beatuful Gretsch kit that was just outside of his grasp (so sorry about that man... what a bummer!).

Anyway, the thread got me thinking that there must be a bunch of us that did score some great stuff at garage sales. I'd love to hear some stories and see some pics!

Yard sale near my house a year or so ago. 1970 Acro, no S/N.

Needed re-heading top & bottom, but still has the original snares.

I think in my whole life I have bought one drum at a yard sale, and I paid 400 for it. I have never gotten a yard sale deal. Granted it was a good deal. But, I am due.

My only Garage sale score but I love it! A 1953 Gretsch RB Cocktail Drum. Has some extra holes and the bottom head lugs were added later but still really cool. I only had a $20.00 on me and they let me haul it away! I almost done getting it up and playing again. Dig the cool Gladstone style lugs!

Do Estate Sales apply? I got a great haul last year. Still have the 1965 WMP Ludwig Classic Kit, kinda got it for free after I sold a few other items I got at the same sale.
