When did Ludwig start using them? Should my 1970 kit have them?

They did NOT use them under the lugs in 1970 so I would have to say no.

Hey MW. If it's your oyster blue kit you're referring to, it is absolutely correct without them. As far as I know, only the vistalites had gaskets under the lugs.

Gaskets were only under the lugs of Vistalites shells in the 70's..No gaskets on wood shells drums till the late 90's....Mikey
