Gene Krupa's Drum Set for sale Last viewed: 58 minutes ago

I just thought that people might be interested to know that one of Gene Krupa's personal drum sets is for sale this weekend at Skinner's musical instrument auction this sunday nov. 6th. www.skinnerinc.com I believe the set is Lot number 21 in the auction. I had spoken with the person in charge of their instrument auctions a while ago when I dropped off some violins, and if I remember correctly it was some of Gene's drums that were donated to his church in Yonkers around the time that he passed away and was later purchased by one of the parishioners who kept it until recently and has now put it at auction. Skinners is one of the premier auction houses in the country. Their musical instrument auction tends to be mostly violins, bows, high end guitars, etc. , but they do have Krupa's set this sunday. I am sure online and phone bidding is an option for those who are out of state. Anyway, I just thought people on the list might be interested. I do not have any knowledge or stake in this set beyond that, so do not ask me any questions. I just wanted to spread the word about the sale as I thought it might interest people on the forum.

Verrrrrrrrry interesting. If the bidding for this set gets to be too high for you, I might be coerced to sell you my Slingerland set for a little bit lower price. My set is "better" because all of the drums match. And, also, my Slingies take up less space (12-14-20).
