George Hayman Drums Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hello,

I've just bought a kit at a local auction, my son has recently started taking drum lessons, and would like to find out a bit more about the kit we bought.

It's a George Hayman gold kit with an 18" Base Drum, a 14" floor standing Tom and a 12" Tom that's mounted on the Base Drum. It's also got a Ludwig Speedking Pedal and Ludwig Pedal and High Hat Stand.

A quick look on the net suggests this kit may be quite collectable, and I'd like to know a bit more info.

Thanks

Wow, cool. I have just bought the same kit here in NZ. I have searched the net and, until now, I have not been able to find another in those sizes. It's called the recording kit and appears to be really rare in the small jazz sizes.

Its English and being a George Hayman badged kit as opposed to a Hayman badged one, it dates to 1969. They dropped the George after 1 year.

Here's the thread on my kit. More info there. http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=19450

The tom mount system is quite tricky and not terribly easy to use. How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

Here's the catalog page too. http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=28&u=14273398

Hi pete, I have had a gold george haymen vibrasonic snare drum in my dads garage for years, and didn't realise how rare these drums were, It's not in the best condition, pitting on top and bottom hoops, 2 tension screws missing and no strainer, but lugs and covering in quiet good condition, I guess the hoops could be re-chromed. it still has the original Haymen (Remo) bottom head on it, make me a reasonable offer and its yours.... cos its going on e-bay, seen 1 for sale for £250 with no hoops or screws in blue.......
