I was wondering what the heck that was. I asked the seller and he said it was an illusion and that the lugs were perfectly round. I'd never seen GW lugs with plugs like that so I had no idea they existed. Apparently the sellers eyesight is lacking. At any rate, I wish there were better photos of that set especially the ability to zoom in on those "upgraded" spurs. I love that...upgraded...

S.O.B. if I don't learn something new everyday here! I never knew about the difference between the GW lugs and the later Camco ones. It was like seeing them for the first time! There are all the butt-tabs on the lugs on my GW kit. I had not noticed them before.

So the shells went from 3 to 4 ply in 1961? And I believe someone stated that the diameter of the George Way shells were the same as Oaklawn Camco?
