George Way didn't put tone controls on his drums but he would do it for a client or special order. Hard to tell if it's from the man himself or someone taking the law into their own hands!

Nice drum. You could say I have a thing for George Way drums....

Also that drum measures 5.5x14. When Camco took over they changed to 5x14.

Round lugs remind me of DW drums.

That's because George Way became Camco which became DW...

Logo was done as a joke. GW never had a logo on bass drum heads.

Can you tell if this is the kind of tone control George Way would have used? Is it in the right location? Or is there just no way to tell?

Second: do you know of a WMP George Way kit that is available? I have a 12-14-16-20 matching snare blue sparkle camco to trade for something like that. Pics of the kit are in the gallery (search 1964 Camco). Since those pics I added the 16FT. The wrap on it is a bit darker than the rest of the kit which came together. Also I have all of the period correct hardware to compliment the kit - throne, snare stand, hihat stand, flat based cymbal stand, L-arm and kick pedal. No extra holes on any drum and the chrome and wrap are totally clean. Curious thing though - when I bought the snare it had a stamp on the inside "Eddie Knight school of music". A year or so later I bought the 16" FT -- Same stamp. I don't know if I reunited two pieces that had been separated or not - the wrap doesn't really match(FT darker) but its kinda cool anyway
