gold satin flame Slingerlands Last viewed: 3 hours ago

This is my first post and I could use a little help.

I've been given three Slingerland Gold Satin Flame drums. Bass drum (20), floor tom (16) and snare drum (5.5). All are date stamped August or September 1966. Wraps are excellent shape, no spider cracks or separations. All shells are excellent, no warps or cracks. One BD hoop has a small separation/crack, which looks to be easily fixed with some wood glue. Has original spurs, t-rods and tom holder and looks like original front and batter heads. Snare drum needs an original top hoop and floor tom needs an original bottom hoop. All drums need a good cleaning and from what I gather, Scrubbing Bubbles works well on this finish.

Anyhow, I'm trying to figure a value (or at least a ballpark) for these drums. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the VDF, the kit sounds like it was a Gene Krupa 1N missing teh 9x13" tom. I'd offer $300.00 with the parts missing and the tom not there.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

That sounds right to me. It would be a nice project to restore, and find or rewrap an 8x12" or 9x13" Slingerland tom.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Well...the snare drum may be the Artist, either 3-ply or solid maple. The snare alone would be worth $300. Just my :2Cents:

Consider too that the value of these sets is pretty high right now because the music video takes don't use the mounted tom as it blocks your view of the star player. :D

Should be reasonably easy to find a 12 or 13 tom though.
