Goodwill could make 2-3x if they just shipped this.

I agree I have seen many items I would like but the shipping issue always stops me from buying the items

It's gotten bad at Goodwill. No more bargains to be found. I started shopping Goodwill auctions several years ago and while it remained a close held secret, I made all kinds of amazing scores on vintage drums. Now way too many people are hip to it. More often than not, when I buy something at Goodwill I'm paying full-on retail for it because of the (now) fierce competition. Some examples are: three years ago when Goodwill was a quiet little backwater website I purchased a Cleveland Rogers Mardi Gras kit for $300. Just yesterday I paid $300 for a prototype orange peel acro (pre-serial badge, all aluminum except for top hoop,) which is about the retail price for such a drum. No more 'real bargains' at Goodwill anymore. Wait, I take that back... 'occasionally' you can still make a good buy at GW. I miss the old days when nobody knew about the site. It was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Too many great drums to list here!

John,

I was really interested in the Acro you bought as well and was hoping for a bargain. Those days are over I guess. Nice find nonetheless, I'm jealous!

I've bought several drums in the last month and none were a steal.

But I've been happy with them all.

I saw the old acro but didn't try to get it. I'm glad it found a good home.

I wonder if people realize that Goodwill is a privately owned for profit company that the owner makes millions every year from people giving him items for free he makes %100 profit on.

That's a 66 tom - going by the S/N.

Nice drum, ya too bad they're not willing to ship it. I've bought drums from them in the past and they did ship to me. It all depends on the item - some they will ship on - others they won't.
