The double tom mount would be the 1966 aluminum one that matches the BD plate<(which has an after market tightener BTW!)Yes,the tom mounts are correct ones...you need a Ludwig wrench (or..vise grips) to tighten...I have 2 of the correct wrenches......PM me if needed...BEAUTIFUL kit!Eye Ball You will get compliments on it..both sound and looks wise....

Are you sure standard sockets don't fit these? I just found a perfect match with no play in my toolbox...

A beautiful Hollywood kit! And... hang on to your wonderful wife!! Like her, my girlfriend also supports my hobby/habit. In fact, she just made a small video of our "drum room", which I'll be posting on Youtube and will provide a link for all to see.

Now, concerning the double tom holder, it appears to be a replacement for the original. The original mount should have a script "Ludwig" logo, not the block logo. Definitely not a deal breaker, though!

Enjoy your kit... and take your wife out for a nice dinner!

Mark

PS. Ok, looking at other pictures of 1967 Hollywood kits, I do see many of them with the newer Ludwig logo, so this must have been a transition period.

PS-2. I'm still not convinced this is the correct tom arm! OK guys, please weigh in on this!

While good drums are hard to find, good wives are even harder.

$1,200? With me I would have hemmed and hawed, asked a million questions here then someone would have beat me to it. Good luck!

Thanks, Larry - I knew if I did that I would run the chance of never seeing them again. She insisted that if those were the ones I wanted she would get them. I used my best judgement and even though I have some doubts just because of the pristine condition, I went with what I've learned here and pulled the trigger.

Bottom line is, they sound fantastic. I tested them out today finally and my wife sat down there with me and said these sound really nice, and that they don't "go through her" like my other MIJ kit. In other words, tolerable. ;)
