Gonna get this set tomorrow for $500. Includes 1 Zildjian key holed ride and a Camber crash in addition to the snare and all stands. These 70s black/silver badge Slingys just don't get any respect. The gold/black badges from the 60s seem to fetch more though - aren't they basically the same drums?

No there are differences between the two decades,The 70's have clear maple interiors and sharper bearing edges. they sound fantastic as all slingerlands do, that is a great price

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Wow, heck of a deal on a New Rock/Modern Solo. Those look terrific.

Original snare, dang, like a museum display.

Yep, it was a local CL grab. Just picked it up and it's all original down to the t-rods. All serial numbers start with 339 but was surprised they were 5 ply shells not 3 ply with re-rings - never knew Slingerland used them in the 70s. I am now setting up my 3 plys to compare sound - should I notice a significant difference? In addition to "de-rusting" a bunch of lug screw fasteners I also have to repair a wrap crack in the floor tom but hey, what can you expect for $500? The snare is in great shape and also from the same era.

The 5 ply shell was introduced in 1972
