Green Vistalites/Gold Silk Inlays Factory? Last viewed: 9 hours ago

Loading...

Hey yall!

As you may know, I recently came across a killer 74/75 green vista big beat kit with matching snare. I have one question about it. Since this kit has all original heads, rods, washers, Atlas hardware package including throne, rubber feet, etc etc I am curious about the bass drum inlays.

They are clearly "gold silk" which some say green vistalite kits came factory with. Others say they came with silver sparkle or green sparkle inlays. Can anyone shine some light on this? It would really surprise me if these inlays were not the factory inlays, as all of the other clues on this one owner kit point to it not really having been played. The black paint chipping is consistent with the age of the kit. The inlays are in tip top shape (as is the rest of the kit) so I am just a little surprised that some people are saying that the inlays aren't correct.

Thanks for any insight. Here are some pics of the kit for fun.

Actually after looking at color swatches I would say my kit has "Silver Silk" inlays. Maybe they were out of Silver Sparkle that day so they just went with the silk? Seems likely.

I know the original Amber Vistas had Gold Silk inlays. They changed over to gold sparkle after they dropped the Gold Silk color.
