Fantastic find! The bar owner having those drums stashed away reminds me of a certain bar owner in Scottsdale that tried to keep my 1st pro level kit for a bar tab that our bands guitarist and singer ran up. I was 16 at the time and didn't even drink...Lol...He seriously locked them up in his office and tried to keep them.

Those broadkasters are one of the most well preserved sets I've seen anywhere! Congratulations optikdrummer!

Now not to jack a cool thread but how'd you get your drums back from the bar owner in Scottsdale?

Those are the epitome of vintage drums. Those post-war drums are just right--no tacked tom heads, legs on the floor toms, great wraps, great shells, calf heads. Very nice. you're a lucky man.........marko

This kit should be in the Drumset gallery, we don't even have pictures of pre 1950 lugs and hardware on the site. By far one of the nicest Gretsch kits I have ever seen.
