I am about to start a project on a 3 ply 16x16 Gretsch floor tom. From the outside it looks great but the plies are separated to the point hat I think its only being held together by the lug screws!
Does anyone have experience with a repair like this or any suggestion on someone that would be good?

Where do you see the ply separation? Your description sounds like the drum would unravel if you removed all of the hardware. I'd love to see some pictures.
Dave, if you don't do the work yourself, I'd call Jack Lawton or Forks Drum Closet in Nashville. Forks has Sam Bacco (Gretsch guru) do their resto work. I'm going to have one of these guys fix the seams on my Gretsch tangerine kit.

The drum looks great from the outside but after removing the heads, it looks like i had two inches of water in it for about a year! I think it would unravel if I took all the lugs off!
The water rusted out half of the screws holding the bottom lugs on. Terrible.
The ebay seller said there was "some water damage" but it's really bad.
