For sale is a late 50"s (?) Gretsch 6.5"X14 3 ply snare. Silver interior no tag. Looks like everything is in tact and working properly. All the clips there and everything appears original except for heads and wires. I'm no Gretsch expert so please alert me if you see anything that does not look correct.

8 Lug.

The shell is in great shape with a few slight scuffs here and there. Chrome looks good with some light pitting . The COB hoops have little bends under the clips that I've seen on other Gretsch drums with these single flange hoops. The edges are factory and in good shape.

That's an awesome looking snare. Great size, finish, ply make-up and price. The 4-point strainer and butt end is rock solid too.

Yes, those single flange hoops are soft. I upgraded mine to the Gretsch modern 302 stick choppers from Steve Maxwell, which gave a larger tuning range.

Thanks Tim. I have 5" version with die cast on it.

I forgot to mention, this is an 8 lug snare.

I'm guessing this is a Mahogany finish. I will have to go check out a catalog to see for sure.
