Do you feel that line was ever accepted by the public?..Same shells and detail that went into the customs, but you rarely see any around..I cant recall seeing a kit for years now that i think of it.Coffee Break2

You talking about the reissues? I could not get used to the gunmetal hardware. Also to me the finishing on the shells always looked bad. Many were splotchy. They did sound great though.
Here ya go, Wayne:
Pricey, but a gorgeous kit.

Thx for the replies...There is a 5pc mint kit up here for 2k that has me thinking, plus i can trade gear toward it and put it on layawayx-mas3
Are there no BK players or owners here?
I do not own them but I have owned a 1982 Gretsch walnut finish top of the line kit. I have played the Broadkasters and they play and sound awesome. I am a Gretsch nut. I also was not crazy about the gunmetal hardware. That was a Gretsch failure in my opinion. I own a Gretsch New Classic kit and it sounds amazing too. For 2200.00 I got the 22/16/14/12/10/8 configuration. Whatever you choose in the Gretsch pro drums I don't think you'll be sorry unless the die cast hoops are damaged or bent or the bearing edges were bad. I have 4 Gretsch kits and they just make great drums.
