I picked up a Gretsch Burgundy Sparkle 4417 floor tom at a garage sale and I have been combing all over the web to date it.

I have checked out the color charts from the 1961 and 1963 catalogs on this web site but I see no Burgundy Sparkle listed in 1961, only in the 1963 catalog, so I was wondering if this color was offered in 1962 as well.

I had it checked out at Donn Bennett's drum shop and they said it was made sometime between 1960 and 1963 according to the silver paint inside and no serial number tag.

This drum appears to be all original and I even found the original head on the bottom side of it.

Any help on narrowing down a manufacture date range for this drum would be appreciated.
