So I have a Spizz 22" that's a great ride, although haven't been using it too much. Definitely lots of personality, but don't know if it sits well in non jazz settings (nice medium plenty of overtones). Anyways, there is a guy I know that may trade a rock sized Gretsch RB kit (22, 13, 16) that is a re-wrap. I may get extra cash for the cymbal, but someone tell me if I'm crazy. I don't have a Gretsch of these sizes, but might be nice to have. Then again, Spizz ain't around either.

The cymbal may be worth more, but if you are tired of it and don't want to go through the hassle of selling it you may be better off just trading for the drums....

I thought it over some more and decided to pass on the offer for the trade. Gretsch is cool, but I've got a decent amount of tubs.

I did just the opposite last year, traded 3 drum sets for three old Ks!

Hi:
I agree withyour choice mainly because the Gretsch drums are a re-wrap. It's difficult to justify giving up a classic (your cymbal) for something with diminished value due to alterations. By "value" I don't just mean financial, but more like aesthetics. I like my early 60s Gretsch kits partially because of their original finish despite other flaws.
