Gretsch Fusion 8 kit - mid 1980's Last viewed: 24 minutes ago

I have a mid 1980's Gretsch Fusion 8 kit I purchased new, still own. As I rember, the color is Rosewood. The 8 x10 tom has an internal label with model # of M4414 and a serial # of 142930 on it. I'm trying to find out what the shells are made of , the bearing edge degree and where they were manufactured. Any help would be appreciated ! First post !!

The shells would be a six ply mix of maple and gumwood made for Gretsch by Jasper. Jasper made shells for Gretsch from roughly 1958 - 2000. They would have been built in Ridgeland, South Carolina where Gretsch has been located since the mid 1980s.

It appears you have a set of USA Custom model drums. Prior to around the year 2000 all Gretsch drums were made at Ridgeland (except for the obviously imported Blackhawk series, which are so tagged).

You have the equivalent of today's top of the line Gretsch drums.

Thanks for the information. I wish I would have kept the promo info and specs brochures when I originally purchased the kit. It still sounds great .
