Saw this at Al's Music Store on Facebook and don't ever recall seeing Green Satin Flame before. Anyone know what years Gretsch produced these? Looks original. Great color.

Late 60's-early 70's...

I sold a set in that finish to Sonic Youth around 20 years ago...

Never in any catalogs...AFAIK......

I have seen that described as Olive Satin Flame. I have seen multiple Round badge drums and one set with Stop Sign badges, so the late 1960s - very early 1970s seems like the right time frame.

There was a double bass round badge set that had been split up into two sets which were both floating around the Kansas City area a few years ago.

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72

I love love love the color.

My family had shag carpet in that color in the early to mid 1970s!

The Brady Bunch loved olive too. It was everywhere on the show :)

Nice find.

I recall the set I sold to SY as having SS badges..

Rob Cook drove to my house to inspect them before we sent them onto Steve Shelly!

He went to school with Steve I recall...

Great story Blair! Being a Sonic Youth fan the finish just got that much cooler.

Rockin Robin in Houston has a set of gretsch drums in that wrap. A I recall they are round badge drums with an extra mounted tom that has a stop sign badge. I almost popped for them a few months ago. But, then I remembered how much I don't like the construction of that era of Gretsch drums.
