Gretsch marching snare? Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Loading...

greetings

i came across a Gretsch marching snare (12" deep x 16" diameter)

no badge, but rocket lugs. all mahogany, and missing the original strainer (Pearls strainer in it's place).

the shell is in good shape but the hoops need to be repaired or replaced.

i was wondering what this might be worth or if it's rare, etc.

thanks

Nice drum. I'd just clean and polish it. Leave the battle scars. They give the drum character.

yeah, i was tempted to hang onto it, but i need to make room and i could use the extra money for a vet bill. it came from an estate i helped clean out. they gave me all the music gear - old duplex snare, 14 x 20 gretsch wmop bd, a few zildjians, 3 bass cabs & amps, etc. a nice haul...

i also got a 16x18(diam) gretsch floor tom wmop that i have no idea what it's worth.

it seems to me that this is a rare item.

I'm not a guru. There are several real Gretsch Gurus on this forum. Hopefully you'll here from some of them soon. Be patient.

your floor tom is a 50's model more than likely 3 ply shell with rocket lugs on it. can you post a pic of the interior?
