Gretsch One Nighter Round Badge Kit - $325 plus shipping Last viewed: 52 minutes ago

Hey all, I'm offering up my Gretsch round badge One Nighter kit. I purchased the kit from the original owner who bought it in the early 1960's from Phil Hulsey at Northland Music. If the name Phil Hulsey sounds familiar, I believe he might have been the West Coast sales rep for the Slingerland Drum Company.

Please excuse my laziness, I pretty much copied and pasted from my current craigslist ad.

The kit was gigged for 30+ years around town playing jazz. The kit includes a 14x22 bass drum and a 9X13 tom. One Nighter kits were 2 pc kits consisting of a bass and tom. The One Nighter Plus kits added the snare drum.

These drums were built before Gretsch added paper tags on the inside of their shells. No serial numbers are on either drum. Both drums contain the 6 ply Jasper shells with factory painted silver interiors. They also sound great but you probably already know how the round badge drums sound. Heads fit loose on the tom but are snug on the bass drum. Those familiar with round badge drums know that heads often fit snug. I put new heads on the tom and one new head on the bass drum. The original resonant head is on the bass drum. It has the original owners name on it but is faded. The original rail consolette mount, Jimmy Pratt bass drum muffler and spurs are also included.

The kit is in very nice players shape but will need to be recovered or refinished. I have cleaned and waxed all the metal on the drums. I removed the original wrap on the bass drum since it practically fell off and was beyond repair. The badge was marred up so I polished it and it looks like brand new. It could be darkened to look older. The glue on the bass drum shell will need to be removed and the tom wrap looks better in the pictures than in person. I tried waxing the wrap but there are many small cracks and splits in the blue glitter wrap which now contain the wax. From a distance, it looks pretty good. It was definitely in better shape than the bass drum wrap.

The original hi-hat stand and bass drum pedal are included but are worn out. They work and could get you by as long as you aren't playing Judas Priest type of music.

Overall, the drums are clean, are structurally sound and have great potential. The parts alone are worth more than what I'm asking. They just need someone to give them some love. I just picked up an amazing Rogers kit, so all my extra drums and projects need to go.

Thanks!

Ray

Bump.

I can sell the drums individually if you'd like. Bass drum $200 plus shipping and tom would be $120 plus shipping.

Will be putting them on ebay soon.
