Gretsch RB 13/16/20 - $1700. Last viewed: 40 minutes ago

Bumped - now $1700 for a kit with original wrap in near flawless condition less a small scratch and great condition chrome. Will be packed and shipped with care.

Mid-1960s Gretsch Round Badge 13/16/20 Green Glass Glitter (brighter and sparklier in person than in pics which are in the original posting -wasnt sure how to bump listing)

13" - # 78453

16" - # 98443

20" - # 98709

Excellent condition with original wrap and bearing edges. All mufflers are intact and working. Shells are extremely clean as are mufflers with virtually no tarnish. Edges are in excellent original condition and all shells are round with heads fitting well, although the 16 fits snugly. The kit sounds absolutely fantastic as a sound RB kit should.

All three round badges are present. The BD rims look too good to be not painted but who knows - I see a previous owner flipped the batter hoop as the pedal chewed into the hoop. The kit does look very clean overall. Wrap is excellent and unmarked other than one small mark in the 16" I tried to capture - looks like a light scrape into, but not through the wrap (see photo). Seams and wrap are tight. Colour is bright and consistent across all three drums. There is one small extra hole (but none others on kit) where the previous owner drilled one small hole to shift over the rail mount to the right - and then since replaced it to its original position - there is a small bolt plugging the hole at present)

I was told by a Gretsch guy that the rods, lugs, rims, cymbal arm, mufflers, spurs and rail are original. The chrome is in excellent condition with some pretty minor pitting on some lugs and some spots on the rims but overall it is pretty solid. This kit was obviously well taken care of.

Has generic tom legs of good quality - they are made custom for a drum maker I patronize.

I'll pass on the story I received as to its' history: brought into the shop by a player who got the kit from his uncle some years back who was the original owner. VDFers, feel free to comment on the condition and originality as I am no Gretsch expert.

US$1700.

thanks VM - the more I look at it, the more the condition impresses - a drum maker, vintage drum restorer and Gretsch warranty work guy I deal with from time to time here in Ontario, said it is one of the best condition RB kits he has seen that was regularly played - Im sure there are mint examples out there among the collector community, but the chrome, shell interiors and wrap on this one are remarkable, although there is a touch of light pitting on some chrome, but much of it is mint - I thought it was a re-wrap when I first saw it but it is definitely not. My understanding is that Im the third owner and that the first two were related.
