Gretsch Renown Snare Last viewed: 51 minutes ago

Anything different about these drums other than the strainer? Just won an auction for one in Blue Sparkle for what I thought was a pretty good price (190) considering a round badge will go from 300-500 I thought I'd take a chance.

The Renown snare drum (model numbers 4102 and 4103) is an eight lug snare with the Renown throw and a simple butt. The drum in your auction appears to be a Name Band snare drum (model 4157) with a replacement throw and much of the four point butt still present. The four point butt looks a lot like the Renown throw.

Does that help?

Yes it looks like the "Name Band" snare drum with an unknown throwoff and the correct adjustable butt plate with the slider missing. Find a Micro Sensitive Strainer and the other half of the butt end and you'll have a nice collectable and nice sounding snare drum. Hopefully no extra holes. Good luck and good score. Oh and find the fatty Gretsch key that fits in the hole.
