Gretsch Replacement Lugs? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

I recently acquired a late 70s/early 80s "Drop-G" stop sign badge Gretsch kit. The lugs are badly pitted so I would like to get replacements. Does anyone know of repros that fit the hole spacing for kick/floor tom as well as a rack tom? They don't have to be exactly the same in appearance, just similar and presentable. I tried Drum Foundry, but it appears that the hole spacing on their "Gretsch-style lugs" is different. Any other places I could find lugs that would fit the holes so I won't have to drill? This will be a gig kit, so I'm not too worried about appearance. Thanks.

You can get correct replacements from Gretsch still. They never went out of production.

True, but I'd like to avoid that route, in all honesty. It would cost a small fortune to buy a large amount of replacement lugs from Gretsch--they probably want at least $10 per lug.

New ones are sold in pairs. Explorersdrums.com has them. Bigs ones are $20. a pair. Little ones 17.50. Externally they look just like the old ones but they do not have internal springs like the old ones. Used ones are on ebay all the time but you can expect to pay at least $5 each for nice ones.
