So I bought this snare a month or so ago and I just haven't used it as much as I thought I would so I'm going to sell it. Only problem is I can't find much on it and I don't wanna screw myself over on a price or someone else. Its a model 4108T and it's in really good shape. The shell has a couple scratches and the rims are chipping a little but that's all. Everything on it works perfectly too. The only reason I don't use it is that its a little too dry and has too harsh of a crack to it. I imagine its probably a really good recording snare but I haven't had the chance to try that. I was gonna ask $200 for it. I'll upload a few pictures. If you need any more just let me know. Any and all information on it would be a big help. Thanks.

Hi
The lable looks like from 1973 - Stop Sign Badge1 (as in your badge) - taken from page 38 of Richard Gier's (Forum Member) publication Dating ov Vintage Gretsch Drums Based Upon Serial Numbers:......
I'm a little confused regarding the badge though. The 't' after the hand-written model number indicates a Tom. The snare drums I own show an 'S' following the model number (my newer snare drums). S indicating a snare shell T indicating a tom shell. Also, that's how all the drums are listed in the Gretsch 'Price List.'
I'm no expert....just making an observation from what I've read and what I see on my own Gretsch drums.
I have a snare drum almost identical to yours but my paper tag has no letter following the handwritten model number - see photo.
As far as price goes.....I've seen these drums on eBay priced at over $500. I bought mine in a second-hand store for much less than that.
I was confused by the "T" too. The few things I found on this model didn't mention a "T". Thanks for the info. Do you know what the shell is made of? Aluminum is what I assume.
Aluminum is what my drum is
My round badge has no written suffix, just model 4108. That husky dry sharp crack is the reason I like it so much!
The "T" appended to the 4108 indicates that the snare was equipped with a tone control (muffler). I have many entries recorded in my database for model 4108 drums, some with the "T" and some without.
