Once you take of the original and check the mechanism, you'll find that the mechanics just aren't up to snuff. I still maintain the way to go is a nice aftermarket Microsensitive. You won't regret it!

I use a hair tie....seriously its cheap and easy.
Just purchased a new one from Steve Maxwell in NYC. $99.00 but no shipping. The push button lock works and is easy to use...as long as you remember to push the button.
