Not vintage,, But could someone please advise the ID & worth of this snare,
it's local and looks like a possible bargain price..
Cheers
Longjohn - Here's your drum, buddy:

If the one you're looking at has a 'bargain price' on it, I'd grab it. Hammered brass snares are nice, dry drums. Almost 'woody' tone to them.
Good luck...
John
Thanks Purdie..
I'll get a bid ready.. Much appreciated

Hey Purdie.. just noticed your link,,
Do you think "Kick" may have been lost in the abreviation??
Cheers,
John
Cool Dude
LOL - I guess I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box anymore...took me a little while to figure that one out! Funny, hadn't noticed that.
Yes, ''kick"-a$$... Yes Sir
John
Well,
I did win this little beauty, and at a good price.. I do feel a little guilty as the seller really had no idea what it was that they were selling, eg: "acoustic snare drum and stand (gold colour)".. It turns out that this is a recent model & the stand is the top model Gibraltar & still current.. Not a mark on either short of a few fingerprints here and there.
I am impressed at the tonal variation which is quickly attainable & the die cast rims have a nice feel to them.. I need only to fit an internal damper & come up with the right head combo.. this will be a keeper for sure..
thanks Purdie for a "steer in the right direction"..
Cheers from downunder..
