Gretsch Snare Wrap Repair/Broken Strainer Last viewed: 7 minutes ago

Hi everyone! A while ago I got a Grestch snare drum. I never really have played it, but I got it out over Spring Break, and now I like it. I really like playing the drum, but it has two problems.

First, the wrap is loose at the end. My dad tried to fix it, but I think he made it worse (don't tell him that!) What should I do?

Second, the strainer lever won't move. Can these be fixed or is it a part that has to be replaced? From what I have seen, it is called a RENOWN strainer, and a new one costs more than the drum! This is the bigger problem. I can take a picture of it when I get home from school, if that would help.

Julia, the renown throwoff is a simple throwoff but can be a pain most the time it just needs a cleaning and lube especially the slider plate, Do as Jeff stated post pics of the strainer the front and the back of it if possible? also closeup of the wrap.
