Wondering what year Gretsch used this badge without the USA. Just Gretsch on the badge. They are on drums that look like older Rosewood. Couldn't find info anywhere on the Gretsch Badge Time line or VDF

Nice drums. I think those were the original re-introduced "Renown" series. I had a 10-ply maple Full Range snare with a similar badge, which was a US shell, assembled offshore. Timeline maybe around 2000?

I think USA Maples from that era also used these, but I'm not certain. I was reading about those drums recently somewhere, prob at DFO. Maybe someone will know for sure.

That badge was used on imported sets and snares in the early to mid 2000s. It's the same basic design as the USA Custom badge of that time but was a pewter color rather than goldtone and lacked the USA imprints. Eventually the import lines were given their own specific badges but Gretsch may still be using this particular badge on some imported snare drums.
