That is a super gorgeous set, EMD!!! Congrats!

I thought so, too...which is why I had to jump on them. I also got them for what I consider a decent price and free shipping!

I'd prefer to see some proof of the sequence.

When I get my drums I'll check for stamps inside the shells and that should tell me the year of this kit. That should solve the debate...unless, of course, there are no stamps and then we're back to square one!

Sequences & time lines are established by multiple examples, & systematic patterns. (The drum world is full of anomalies, out of sequence badges, serial numbers, & stamped dates).

This badge goes back in 1930-1948 in 1949 the went into black and gold Badges. Yet I have a set made 6/1942 as marked with black and gold.

Hey cuquito...thanks for resurrecting this thread. I have had my set for a couple of months now, but I never found any stamps on any of the drums. At this point, I think I'm going to have to assume they are late 40's.

I love Leedy drums, and you are lucky you didn't get the dreaded ( to me) nickel hardware...

Leedy had that on kits a lot......

Actually...I did get nickel hardware...but I dig it! I think the lack-luster finish adds to the mojo of the kit! The shells are pretty shiny, though. Here is a recent pic of this beauty...

I have this 5PC set know going on 45 years with me. I brought it a shop Henry Adler had in NYC, and it look totally different from your set and markings on all drum has as made 6/42 and 5/42. The bass drum is 26 under Leedy Spraten the rest have regular Leedy badges Black and Gold. This lead me to believe you set has to be a newer set than mine check out these photo I post. Also note lugs on snare and bass drum yours totally newer concept.
