It is a strange world filled with odd people making very unusual and selfish choices. Fo sho!

I think a lot of assumptions are being made from ones "personal opinion" without knowing the person on TV or their heart.

That is so very true, we often forget to not judge people on appearence alone.

I'm not judging anyone, guess you missed the point, which was you are playing on a national stage, just wear some clothes, is that too much to ask? by the way it was the voice, even adam levine even wears a ripped up t shirt

If the band was hired and they knew the drummer usually plays without a shirt - well it's up to the show to say something. Not for me though - no tats. Thinking the show was playing to the audience when they hired the band.

Being someone that has both arms fully sleeved, I do agree there are times when it isnt best to show them. My In-laws are very conservative people and I chose to keep them covered until they knew me well enough to not base their opinions on my ink. They didnt see them for the first 6 months I dated my wife. Now, they look forward to seeing my new additions almost as much as they like checking out my newest drums.

What's the difference between a musician with tattoos or a pro sports player with tattoos? Both can be seen on TV, any time. Maybe just get over it (?). I don't have tattoos, nor would I want one, but today, it's totally acceptable and seen everywhere, on anyone.
