LOL!!i I remember doin this with chains back in the 80's.
I remember it as very dangerous and damn hard to play.
hitting cymbals was a lil like duck hunting. ya hadda lead em.
My only experience with hanging cymbals was the time I went to see another band practice, and sat in on his drums for a song or two.The guy had 3 crash cymbals hanging from the ceiling of their practice space, attached by ropes about 4 feet long! The cymbals would swing around like monkeys.Yes, he managed to use less stands this way, but being decapitated was a genuine concern!!
