The Wiggles ROCK!!! just had to say that, lol

yes your lit'l guy and i would have a blast together. i too know all their songs and the moves too and if i don't know the move...i fake it. i love the wiggles and have been a follower and supporter for over 10 years, been to 8 0r 9 live concerts, done a meet n greet with them and spoke with them after the concerts several times. and i do know who Mic Conway is because of the wiggles. so has your son got to work with the wiggles or just mic?

so what does your grandson think of the new wiggles? i was a litl heart broke when i first heard of the guys retiring but i do like the new wiggles too and as long as Anthony says with them i'm alright with it, Anthony is my favorite too. (big grin) anyhoo...

hope you all had a great celebration.

[quote=longjohn;285793]Robyn... You'd get on well with my grandson (see pic).. He is Wiggles crazy .. Knows every song and every dance move.. Wiggles World birthdays for the past three years... and Anthony is his fav..

Also one of my sons plays regular duo gigs with Mic Conway.. Mic is heavily involved with the Wiggles and has appeared with them in many movies and live shows.. See the link to Wiggiepedia...

Robyn,

Elder son plays with Mic mainly as a duo ,sometimes as a three piece and sometimes Mic's old band "Captain Matchbox" get together as well. Last week he and Mic played the Tamworth County Music Festival, this is an annual 10 day event put on by the CMA. Mic's shows are hilarious and I have almost split my sides laughing at times.. His parents were Vaudville performers and Mic and his brother Jim travelled with the show as children. In a Mic show you can expect to see.. Ukeleles, banjos, whistles, bells, megaphones, Magic acts, Tap dancing, fire eating, and comedy.. He even plays washboard and handsaw.. He wears some of the craziest costumes ever to hit the stage..

His brother Jim is probably the best jazz and blues harmonica player out of OZ and has played the world stage with some of the best.

Grandson is just 5yo so he adapted to change quickly.. he went to the new show just before Xmas and enjoyed it a lot.

Cheers

John, sounds like a show id love to see. Would love to visit OZ some day, has always been my dream vacation. I did not know all that about mic and his family. I just knew he works with the wiggles. Oz sounds like so much fun. Thank you for sharing this information.

On the subject of the Wiggles.. when I got back into drumming I decided to take lessons.. and four doors down from my in-laws was a teacher.. a guy called Steve Pace.. he taught (and pretty much lived) in the a studio that was his folks garage.. played lots of bands, worked in a music store.. great drummer, but never hit the big time. He gets a call one day from his uncle (who was the road manager (?) for the wiggles).. come to such and such studio.. there a bunch of guys who want to run through some songs.. turns out to be the wiggles.. (who have enough money to get anyone in the world to play for them).. Steve ends up playing for a couple of their albums, from that gets to play with Kylie Minogue and a few others.. now living in New York.. living the dream!
