Has anyone thought of doing an Animal tribute kit? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Yes, Animal the Muppet I am speaking of!!!!

Unless you were lame, you watched the Muppets and thought they were cool!!! I sure did. I enjoyed the drumming that the real guy behind the kit (who died this year) did.

I wonder what sizes and types of drums one would use to make an Animal kit? Any guesses?

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

Actually, I could see Animal playing your Premier kit...you'd have to lower those crashes though...Animal's like me, Vertically Challenged! Yes Sir

Animal played quite a few kits. I've gone through the video this past year and counted no less than six kits ... though there were more. These that I noted were played during "important" performances ... from my take. They were different colors and setups. It would take some serious research to nail down the "default" Animal kit, as it looked like it varied with scenery and performance needs.

For what it's worth, I had Animal (and the others) on my wall and on my rack sheets while in the service. I caught heck from the MAA, but I honestly could care less. It kept morale up ... which was a difficult task in the middle of the North Pole.

I've lowered the crashes considerably. But I can't get the snare low enough!!!

I am thinking maybe single lugs for an animal kit...

I think it would be pretty fun to have an Animal kit. Really wouldn't be much different than a Moon kit, after all.

And good onya keeping morale up!!! G'd knows high morale needs to be maintained!!!

Proof that Animal played a left-hand kit: http://www.drummerworld.com/drummers/Animal.html

Lots of floor toms on that kit, Octobans, as well. Only four cymbals...

But in the "Bohemian Rhapsody" video, it looks like he plays PTS drums.

I think I will do the red with four floor toms and a pair of Octobans.

What thinkest you, oh wise and wonderful vdf brether (and sister-)en?

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
