My percussion group uses these heads for years now on their snare drums (snare-side).
We need to, because the parallel snare mechanism is fitted to the rim, using a normal collar head, would make the snare mechanism / rim to fall too far over the shell.
As I'm in charge of the maintenance of the snares, I've seen numerous of these heads after years of use. My only conclusion is that they never come loose of the rim and that the stretch of the head (even after over 5 years of use) is ALWAYS much less than the collar that is on new normal collar heads => so really minimal stretch.
Personally, I think initial seating of the head is better (more like the evans 360).
Quality wise, they don't differ from other remo heads.
They are available in clear / smooth white / ebony. Not sure what other series are made with no collar.
Price wise, they cost the same as normal Remo reso heads.
