Hey all,
I've been lurking around the various vintage drum partner sites for some time, and having recently acquired a 1985-ish Ludwig Rocker II (not really "vintage" but it's the closest I've got), I figured I'd register!
I love the drums, they're in near mint condition. My only gripe is the rediculously flimsy tom mounts (the classic Ludwig 9.5mm jobs). They just don't cut it on anything bigger than the 12" drum. What I'd like to do is replace the original mounts with something beefier without drilling into the shells. Now I've done a bit of searching and discovered that the factory mounts have 1 7/8" hole spacing. I'm wondering if anyone here knows of more robust L-rod type mounts with the same spacing. Perhaps these: http://www.interstatemusic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10051&langId=-1&productId=116866 Thanks!
