Help: approx. value of 2 Sonor sets Last viewed: 38 minutes ago

Hello everyone,

This is my first post.

I own 2, 4 piece (made in Germany)Sonor sets (1970's sonor vista light, clear and an early 1980's 9 ply Beechwood). Plus, a Chrome 6”x14”, 10 lug snare. I need help where to find information about how much they should bring in; will probably be selling them. Who or where is a good place to start? I have more details and some pictures if helpful.

PS: It has been such an emotional roller coaster getting to this point to sell them. So many memories, so long ago. I will need to take the money made to buy an electronic set so I can start playing again in my living circumstances. It's been over 15 years since I've actively played.

Thanks & hope you can help? I'm itching to beat some skins again!

You have some very nice drums there. A good resource for properly identifying the drums is:

www.sonormuseum.com

You can ask for value on the site forum but I would be extremely careful. I have been a member of that site so I speak from experience. You will get some low-ballers there. A good resource is a search on completed e-bay auctions. You can see what similar drums went for.

The value of your sets will be based on condition, finish and sizes. If you can give more of this information, I would be able to give you some basic ranges.

For Vistas, known as Acryl by Sonor, you can expect to get between $700 to $900 if no cracks and hardware is ok. Sizes are not as critical on these sets.

For the 9 ply beechwood, known as Phonics, I need to know more. I need to know finish and sizes. There is an extremely wide range in value based on these factors.

The snare should fetch between $250 and $350 depending on condition.

Please be aware that Sonor hardware also has good resale value. You may want to think of selling this separately but it will make the kit more desireable if included.

Cheers.

Good evening.

Could you send some photos of the Sonor Acryl set. I have a 75' smoke blue "Champion" and play it all the time. What color is yours?

I look forward to seeing your set.

All the best,

Denis
