Hi Guys:

Long-time drummer but a newbie to your community. I have what appears to be an old Leedy snare drum (see photos). Does anyone know what this is, or if it might be worth anything? The throwoff has the engraving:

"Leedy MFG Co" and underneath that it appears to say "Pat Dec 12 '11"

steve you have an early mutli model leedy, it has the marching belt clip on the top hoop, here this will help from my bud Mark Coopers site. http://www.coopersvintagedrums.com/leedystrainers.htm

Dave actually it looks to be this model The Reliance model!! Quoted from Mark Coopers site. thanks for the heads up, I was distracted last night when answering this question. The drum pictured below is a 1925 or 1926 Reliance model which shows the Utility strainer. The Utility strainer was first used around 1912 and saw use on various drums over the years. By 1925, it was mainly used on lower line drums.

Loks to be in great working order. 6luggers are the tops, IMO. How do you like the sound?.....marko (I'd be keeping that one, myself)
