Over 50 plus years, the many cymbal stands that I have accumulated have had the interchangeable tubes, rods, tilters, wing nuts, etc. swapped around so many times that I have no idea if any of them have all of the original components kluged together. But, they all still function very well.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Curious - do the grooves/slots on the holding nut (second piece down from the top) serve a special purpose?

That looks like the same type nut that the Camco sizzlers used. The rods went through those slots.
