Help needed with a (gulp) Rogers Series II (ugh) Last viewed: 30 minutes ago

Ludwig made one, a plastic snare.

Interesting article John, and yeah... I'm not sure just how 'collectable' this would be. Other than maybe doing an anti shrine showing the kit that killed a drum company. :)

In fact, I think I'll tell Dana to do just that after I've cleaned 'em up!

Hard to say... remember he's talking about 1 of only 2 Pre Production Samples in the UK at the time...

Cheers

John

Hi John,

Yeah, but... well, I just don't know. Maybe I'll stick 'em on eBay or here... prob just eBay. But I have this thought they won't move. vintagedrumbug can't seem to shift his tom listed at $40 including shipping!

Maybe Fishwaltz will buy it!...he can add it to his friend's kit as an add-on. Color match?

Seriously though, VDB says it right in his listing - for display purposes only!...............

I am surprised that collectors have not snagged this tom up - don't collectors want a SAMPLE of this infamous kit? If so - this whole kit might be a good (and approved :) ) candidate for parting out (at least each drum sold separately).

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Well, if the bug can't move it in two years...

Amazingly, they are a match! Same wrap. But I really don't know the condition of the kit. It'll all hinge on that.

Frankly, this thing is like a giant pile of poo, or maybe a trainwreck. Really, at this point (considering vintage drum bug's inability to sell a tom for forty bucks shipped) I'm really inclined to convince Dana to do the anti shrine thing... or do the planter thing like vdb seems to be thinking of.

I've got to go right by Dana's shop on Thursday - got a new project. I'll stop by on my way to practice and look the beasts over a bit. Hopefully the shells are so far out of round I won't have to deal with it! LOL

If Dana does not have too much $ into them, perhaps he would be willing to donate them to DFO. Then every 20th donater can win a free drum off this kit.....as they are valuable reference pieces.

It would be good promotion to get more donations coming in, good PR for Dana.

You mean the VDF, right?

That would be a great idea! Ive always thought about setting up some kind of raffle or auction where we could donate drum items and the monies would go to the VDF!

As a matter of fact I'd gladly donate the ugly duckling juts to clear some space and support the VDF!

I will indeed pass that along...

His first question will be is it deductible. Is the VDF a 501(c)(3)? I used to shoot David a few bucks in the past. Haven't in a while though, prob should. However I don't remember writing it off.

So David, is it? If it isn't it wouldn't be hard to set up. It is a bit of paper work though...

OMG // LOL! Did I really do that? Must be all this pain med I am on (in rehab)! Seems so much like the same community (it is in a way - just with different focus). I like supporting both, & I believe they in fact support each other.

So yeah, support VDF with it. Good idea to support DFO with such an idea as well. I sincerely appreciate all the moderators/owners/founders/etc. of both forums. They really are special to me and I think we all are spoiled to have these 2 sites to enjoy our fellowship 'round drums!

Yeah - I am serious that it would be a good idea....I mean - as many know about this kit and the demise of Rogers, how many have actually seen a piece of it in person?
