HELP! Nobody Makes Snare Wires for Super SK??? :( Last viewed: 27 minutes ago

From Vipuronr

Thanks very much for the photo! I see how it fits nicely in the strainer...question, did the strainer originally come with a piece that allows you to screw in the wires to it. I dont see it, so is that a piece that may be missing on mine (pic). I assume that the hole in the strainer has a rod of some kind that goes through it and an adjustment knob. That rod maybe the thing that the wire end screws into...is that correct? If that is the case, where can I find that piece (Mikey???).So, searching all over the internet, is Puresound the only manufacturer that makes wires for the clamshell strainer?Beautiful snare by the way!

There is a threaded anchor bar that the snares screw onto and then the adjustment knob screws onto that. Mikey, Blair the usual suspects for parts would be a good place to start

Had a feeling I was missing (yet again) a key piece.

So, the knob itself, is it the same as the larger muffler knob?

Boy this restoring can be a pain, nice when done though.

Thanks.

MD, any chance you can post a closeup.of the bottom section of the strainer showing this mounting piece. Is it one piece, a bar to screw in the wires, a threaded rod that tge mnob screws onto.

Sorry to.impose.

Thanks very.much.

Here's a picture of that elusive piece your seeking! Yep, it pretty much is a tone control knob that threads onto it. Hope this helps!
