One cool thing about the painted sets is they all had nice smooth maple outer plies instead of the normal mahogany. So you can strip them down to natural wood and then stain or clear coat them. If I had snagged these for 50 bucks that's what I'd probably be thinking about doing. That might make these attractive to someone wanting a cool "Thermogloss" club date set.

If I do go that route do you have any tips on how to strip them? I obviously don't wanna damage the wood in any way so an old help would be appreciated, thanks

I'm not sure what the best method would be as I don't have much experience doing that. It would also depend on what type of paint is on the drums as to what sort of stripper would work best. I would use chemical means as much as practical and try to keep sanding to a minimum as those plies can be pretty thin.

I imagine someone with more experience will chime in.

Go to aceget small ready strip put a little on under lug put a piece of plastic from a baggie and sit over night in morning a plastic scraper will show you he money rinse with water and it won't harm wrap( if it is there) good luck pics pkease
