Hey guys im new here. love the web site. Im only 18 and i have a fascination for older music equipment. last spring i recieved a Rogers drum set for FREE. a guy that goes to the bar my band plays at asked if i would be interested in a "crappy" drum set he found on the side of the road. i immediately said yes not even knowing the brand, only because it came with a huge zildjian ride cymbal. he backed up his truck, and wala, there lied a drum set covered in mud, we unloaded it and...blah blah blah now to the good stuff. After he left i started inspecting and realized it was infact a Rogers! I spent ALLLL summer cleaning and polishing every screw, and lug and inch of these drums. I included some pictures. I would greatley appreciate ANY help on dating, or possibly giving a value estimate on this. As you can see in the pics these look brand new, there is one little scratch on the underside of the bass drum but that is it, these are in crazy good condition. i can include serial numbers if they would help. it is a Rogers Holiday set with a power-tone snare. all standard sizes except the usual 20" bass. also has a smaller rack tom that i believe was purchased seperately due to a VERY VERY slight shade difference. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Whoever owned it must of made his girlfriend very mad. You are a fortunate soul to have found it.
Welcome and excellent job on those. That's a pretty good day having a nice vintage set dropped off to you free. I hope you keep them for a long time. Very hard to replace something like that.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Nice find, well done on the cleanup, and I think you will end up really liking those drums.
They look to be 1963 to 1967 from what I can see, they have beaver tail lugs, those started in 1963,the bd t rods look like bowties, which were phased out in the Dayton era I believe
Couple things to help you date them.
Look inside the shell, the sticker should have the city on it,Cleveland would be 1963 to 1966,1967 1968 should say Dayton, the Cleveland drums had flat grey interiors, the dayton drums should be grey and white flecked, with some early datyon drums having a flat grey int. A fullerton calif tag would put them1969 or later, not sure when they changed the drum model name Holiday to powertone but sometime around the Calif.
As far as value goes, no permanent mods ,no extra holes, condition and era all play a part,as well as sizes,it looks like you may have a 20" kick,12" mt and maybe a 14" ft,a 14" ft would help with value, need to have that info to give you a good idea of worth, but the powertone snares usually go for at least 250.00 if in good original cond.
