Help with date implementation of dual internal muffler in Ludwig & Ludwig Snare Drums Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I have a 1927 Ludwig & Ludwig Super Ludwig Mahogany Snare Drum that I found at an estate sale. Can anyone tell what year they started making these snare drums with internal mufflers?

All the examples of my exact same drum I've seen here and on eBay all show the Super Ludwig without the internal muffler. So either I have an snare that was modified later or was manufactured later.

Boiled down the question is actually 2 questions. How long was the Super Ludwig manufactured? When were internal mufflers implemented into this model?

Attached are a couple photos showing the drum and muffler in question.

Super-Ludwigs were in production from 1925 to 1936.... the first L & L internal tone control was first seen in the 1932 catalog. That's a Slingerlandf tone control btw...
