Help with Ludwig Snare Last viewed: 0 seconds ago

Can someone provide me a picture of the inside of a 6-lug Ludwig wood snare circa late 50's to early 60's, I'm assuming it's a Pioneer, but I'm confused as to the date, it's clear on the inside. I'm looking for a picture of the throw-off mounting on the inside, trying to determine if someone gypped me or if there was a bad day at the factory.

Thanks

BBK

No, it's similar, but mine is all clear interior, so assuming it's all maple. I don't have pics just yet, but I'm looking to see how the throw-off was mounted on the inside. It has bowtie lugs and it's a 6-lugger, but no throwoff. There's no extra holes, but something is fishy....

Here's a 1961 Pioneer that I sold on ebay awhile back. You can kind of see the throw-off mounting screws on the lower left side.

What is your specific question about the throw-off mounting? On the Pioneers & Jazz Fests I've "restored" it's just been the machine screws through the shell with a flat washer, a small lock washer and a nut on each. Does yours have something else?

Thanks Larry....until I can post a picture, the main thing I'm trying to figure out is how close to the re-rings were the set screws and washers on the inside of a 5 inch Pioneer snare.
